I Xanga. I won't tell you where, but if you search hard enough, you just might find it. So I think I'm going to not post here and post there. Happy landings!
Hey man! Thanks for the insight, it was really encouraging. I laughed whey i read what you said about being careful of "all we need is love". I cant tell you how many times i erased that phrase then put it back again. HA! Yah, I struggle with ANY "all you need" lines (unless under the focus of "one faith, one salvation" through Jesus Christ). And yah I do save those. I figured that out when I worked at Camp Li-Wa (summer camp in Fairbanks AK). Its nice to be able to always volunteer for the last min staff devos or fire-side testimonies because you have a notebook of self written devotionals ready to go.
Dude, if your wanting to do the PCT that would be awesome!!! Benjamin said it sounded cool but i never heard if he is really planning on it. So YES if you guys wanted to come id be stoked to have yah along. As far as trip planning goes i have already bought everything we will need. So as soon as im finished doing my research i can send you guys some books to look over (data books, maps, guidebooks, novels and trip planners). That way you can familiarize yourself with the trail and wont have to spend all that money buying them. Unless you want your own copies of course. So we'll have to find a time to get together and coordinate, but at this point we have lots of time for that. I don't know if he told you but im planning on starting by May 1st '08 (as early as April 27th). Average through hikers can complete the PCT in 5 months. But its not to hard to do it in less. Im shooting for 4 1/2. So im hoping to reach Canada by mid September. There is really only a five month window open to trough hikers planning on completing the trail in one season, so those are really the only dates we have;) Snow melt in the Sierra Nevada's averages around early/mid July with Snow season starting in the Northern cascades as early as late September. So thats what we got to work with!
Hope all is going good for you. Im not even sure what and where all you are these days... but if you come along then i suppose we will have plenty of trail time to catch up, yah? I dont have your Email addy, so im gonna slap this on your blog... if you get it and wanna pass me your addy that would be sweet. Take'er easy, stay safe.
